UTTMS AI & CSP Solver Engine

What is UTTMS?

UTTMS (Universal Teacher & Timetable Management System) is an advanced, AI-driven academic scheduling and faculty management platform designed to mathematically eliminate timetable clashes, balance teacher workloads, and streamline school, college, and university operations.

Key System Capabilities

1. 100% Collision-Free Schedules

Mathematical CSP Solver Guarantee:

Every lecture and lab block is modeled as a mathematical variable with rigid domain boundaries. Forward checking prunes impossible slots instantly, eliminating double-booked teachers, overlapping student classes, and room collisions.

MRV Heuristic Zero Clash Guarantee

2. Fatigue & Workload Balancing

Automated Burnout Protection:

The solver enforces individual daily period caps, max 2 consecutive teaching periods before a recess, and evenly spreads intense courses across weekdays rather than clumping them together.

Daily Period Caps Even Slot Dispersion

3. Universal Multi-Institution Architecture

Adapts to Any Academic Structure:

Whether a K-12 primary/secondary school with PST/EST/SST teachers, a multi-semester university with credit hours and repeaters, or a Madrassa seminary teaching Dars-e-Nizami, the system automatically adapts terms and schedules.

K-12 Schools HEC Colleges Dars-e-Nizami

4. Faculty Acknowledgments & Student Portal

Transparent Review & One-Click Publishing:

Faculty receive notifications to review their allocated schedule, submit digital confirmations or flag issues, while students enjoy clean mobile-responsive class timetables.

5. 1-Click Substitutions & Adjustments

Instant Faculty Leave Coverage:

When a teacher is absent, the system queries available substitute candidates matching the subject designation who have zero timetable clashes during that exact period.

6. Tamper-Proof Audit & High-Res Prints

Official Institutional Documentation:

Every schedule edit is logged with immutable audit trails. Generates crisp, high-contrast landscape prints for master staffroom walls and student notice boards.

Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) Formulation

Academic scheduling is modeled as a CSP where every required lesson is a Variable, each defined by (Section, Subject, Teacher, RoomType, BlockSize).

The Domain of each variable comprises all available valid pairs of (Day, PeriodSlot, Room). The engine applies Forward Checking to prune impossible domains immediately after each assignment.

Heuristic Optimization Strategies

Minimum Remaining Values (MRV): The solver prioritizes scheduling the most constrained lessons first (e.g. multi-period lab blocks with limited specialized rooms).

Degree Heuristic: Lessons that constrain the greatest number of other lessons are assigned early to minimize backtracking.

Pre-Flight Checklist Before Running the Generator:

Step 1

Programs & Sections

Define academic grade levels, classes, or degree semesters with student counts.

Step 2

Curriculum & Credits

Step 3

Faculty & Venues

Set workload limits (max daily and weekly periods) and classrooms/labs.

Step 4

Lesson Requirements

Auto-generate or customize teacher-to-subject weekly period requirements.
